ALEXANDER THE GREAT
York United FC are delighted to announce the signing of defender Alexander Bergman on a one-year guaranteed contract, with club options for 2026 and 2027.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who holds a Canadian passport, arrives after racking up plenty of top-flight experience in his native Estonia. Most recently, Bergman was with FC Nõmme United, in the capital city of Tallinn, and made 25 appearances in all competitions while accumulating over 1,800 minutes of action.

BERGER KING
FC Nõmme United won promotion to the top tier having been crowned champions of the 2023 Esiliiga, where Bergman contributed immensely, earning seven clean-sheets in 13 appearances. Prior to signing with Nõmme, Bergman spent many years at Tallinna Kalev, coming through the ranks as a teenager and making a professional debut with the club in 2020. Bergman made his top-tier debut in March 2022 and earned a very first top-tier start the following month.
Despite his tender years, Bergman - who was born in Warsaw, Poland - has already made well over 100 professional appearances and has also represented Estonia from Under-15 level right through to the Under-19s.
