A total of five Halifax Wanderers have been selected to the Canadian Premier League's Team of the Week for Week 8.
Wesley Timoteo, Adam Pearlman, Thomas Meilleur-Giguère, Lorenzo Callegari and Isaiah Johnston were all recognized for their play in the Wanderers 2-0 win over Atletico Ottawa on Saturday.
Adam Pearlman (Halifax Wanderers)
Pearlman played a crucial role in shutting down the best offensive team in the CPL on Saturday. Putting in some good battles out wide, he won eight of 13 duels, and four of six tackles.
Thomas Meilleur-Giguère (Halifax Wanderers)
Another clean sheet for the Wanderers and another spot in the Team of the Week for TMG. The Halifax defender was at the centre of the club's defensive efforts once again, but this time also got on the scoresheet as well, heading home the match winner in the 75th minute.
Wesley Timoteo (Halifax Wanderers)
It was another delightful performance on Saturday from the Halifax wing-back. He was especially effective on the defensive side of the ball, winning possession eight times, including twice in the final third.
Lorenzo Callegari (Halifax Wanderers)
Callegari was near perfect in the centre of the park for Halifax on Saturday, winning all ten of his duels against Atlético Ottawa, and five of six tackles. He also completed 49 of 57 passes, creating two chances.
Isaiah Johnston (Halifax Wanderers)
Alongside Callegari, Johnston dominated the centre of the park on Saturday. He won 11 of 13 duels, and possession eight times while completing four dribbles.
