Toronto, ON (Dec. 15, 2025) – Inter Toronto Football Club continues to expand its international development opportunities as Jesse Costa and Luca Accettola recently travelled to Monterrey, Mexico, to train with CF Monterrey’s U23 squad, further strengthening the club’s official partnership with Rayados.
During their time in Monterrey, Costa and Accettola trained at the club’s state-of-the-art facilities and were immersed in a high-performance environment alongside one of Liga MX’s most accomplished organizations. The experience also provided exposure to world-class professionals, including Sergio Ramos, Sergio Canales, Anthony Martial, and the broader Rayados first team.
The visit forms part of Inter Toronto’s ongoing collaboration with CF Monterrey, an agreement centred on shared best practices in scouting, coaching, and player development. Through the partnership, eligible players gain access to international training experiences, while technical staff engage in educational exchanges and observe elite-level training and competition environments.
Reflecting on the experience, Costa highlighted both the professionalism of the club and the impact of training in a demanding, elite setting.
“When we arrived in Mexico, we were welcomed extremely well,” said Costa. “Over the two weeks we were there, Monterrey took great care of us. Top facilities, top coaches, top players, it was truly a very good experience. I was able to take a lot away from it and bring things back that we can implement into our game as we prepare for the season ahead.”
Costa also spoke about the significance of sharing an environment with players he grew up admiring.
“These are the types of players you look up to as a kid,” he said. “Sergio Ramos, Sergio Canales, Anthony Martial, seeing them face-to-face, living that day-to-day environment, and watching their routines was refreshing. Even just small interactions, a greeting or a few words, showed how respectful and professional they are. You can tell they’re there to do a job, and they’re fighting for championships.”
Accettola echoed those sentiments, emphasizing how the training environment and football culture in Monterrey left a lasting impression.
“The facility was unreal,” said Accettola. “You arrive and you’re completely isolated from distractions. Everything there is about football. That mindset shows in every training session. They live and breathe the game. The intensity, the work rate, the mentality, it’s constant. It’s not something you turn on and off.”
Accettola also noted how witnessing the first team environment and competitive atmosphere added another layer to the experience.
“Watching the first team train, seeing the intensity, and then attending the playoff match against Club América was incredible,” he said. “The stadium, the fans, the pressure, it was motivating. It shows you how big the game is there and pushes you to want more every day.”
Both players pointed to the partnership itself as a valuable pathway for development and motivation.
“Having the opportunity to send players into different environments like that is huge,” Accettola added. “Training with another club, seeing how they operate, and feeling that level firsthand helps raise standards. For a club like ours that’s building something ambitious, having a partnership like this is massive.”
Inter Toronto Football Club extends its sincere thanks to Club de Futbol Monterrey for their hospitality, professionalism, and commitment to player development throughout the visit.
Experiences like this reflect Inter Toronto’s broader vision of providing its players with meaningful international exposure, high-performance learning environments, and clear development pathways as the club continues to build toward the future.
