Atlético Ottawa forward David Rodríguez has been named the Canadian Premier League's Player of the Month for April 2025, making him the first winner of the award this season.
Rodríguez introduced himself to the CPL in style over the first month of the campaign, scoring in Atleti's season opener against the Halifax Wanderers before providing a goal and an assist in a 4-1 rout of Vancouver FC the following week.
He finished the month with two goals and two assists (and he scored again in the first game of May), appeared in the Gatorade Team of the Week twice, and was named the CPL's Player of the Week on April 15.
The Mexican-American winger is on loan in Ottawa from brother club Atlético de San Luis, for whom he has already made 15 appearances in Liga MX.
Atlético Ottawa finished April in first place in the CPL with an unbeaten 3-1-0 record, as Rodríguez and co. have enjoyed the start to the Diego Mejía era at TD Place.
