Atlético Ottawa will host the club’s first-ever TELUS Canadian Championship semi-final on Thursday, September 18 (KO 7pm ET), in the decisive return leg - a place in the final is on the line.

We host Canadian Premier League (CPL) opponent Vancouver FC, who currently sit in 8th place in the league standings. This match will take palce over two legs, with the winner on aggregate (meaning, the combined score over the two matches) advancing to the final. The world-famous away goal rule will not be in effect. Should the aggregate score end in a tie, the match at TD Place will decided with a penalty shoot-out.

In the competition’s other semi-final Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Vancouver Whitecaps face Forge FC – the only CPL team to have ever made it to the final of the TELUS Canadian Championship to date. The winner of this match-up will host the final.

The final will take place in October, with the winner of the TELUS Canadian Championship earning a spot in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, an international association football competition organized by CONCACAF as its top continental tournament for clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The champions automatically qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
