Only five games remain in the Canadian Premier League (CPL) regular season and things are heating up. Atlético Ottawa faces a pivotal clash of the titans that could ultimately decide the CPL shield. In the stands, Atleti celebrates its Franco-Ontarian match by recognizing Ottawa’s Francophone culture and the work done to enhance sporting opportunities throughout the greater Ottawa area.
With a TELUS Canadian Championship semifinal against Vancouver FC still on the schedule, Atleti will host Forge FC (KO 3PM) on Sunday, September 21st. Meanwhile, Forge will also be coming off a midweek CanChamp clash of their own albeit with two more days of rest. This will be the last meeting between the CPL’s undisputed top two teams, and a match that could ultimately swing the pendulum in the regular season title race. GET TICKETS.
Atlético are proud to partner with the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE), the Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (CEPEO), and the foundation of l’hôpital Monfort as the club continues to build relationships within the Francophone community. The match will feature unique activations from some of our Franco-partners as well as a special rendition of the Franco-Ontarian anthem at half-time.
More on Atlético Ottawa’s work within the Francophone community:
-
The club continues to work with Ottawa’s francophone school boards (CECCE, CEPEO) to support various sport offerings and after school programs.
-
A partnership with Paul Desmarais High School (Stittsville) was announced in June offering students in the soccer sports-study program individualized coaching, high-level programming, immersive activities with the players, and concrete visibility within professional networks.
-
Atlético also recently partnered with Louis Riel High School (Gloucester) offering the only sports-study program of its kind in Ottawa which provides high-level coaching as part of Atleti’s Powered by Club program.
-
The club has also collaborated on after school programming with Grande Ourse Elementary School (Kanata), and Franco-Ouest High School (Nepean).
Red and white under the lights. VAMOS ATLETI!
