Sam Salter continues to break records this season for Atlético Ottawa. With his goal against Pacific FC, Salter now becomes the club’s all-time leading scorer in all-competitions with 27 goals.
This record was previously held by former Atlético Ottawa midfielder Ollie Bassett, who scored 26 goals over three seasons with the club. Salter is on pace for a career year in goals, currently leading the CPL Golden Boot race with nine, and adding three in the TELUS Canadian Championship.
In addition to etching his name in the Atleti history books, Salter, already boasts scoring four goals in a single CPL match earlier this season against Valour FC, becoming the only player to ever accomplish this feat.
He sits third all-time in league scoring 35 goals for his career. The 24-year-old spent two years with Halifax Wanderers prior to his transfer to Atlético in 2023, with his best return of 11 CPL goals in the 2022 season.
