Atlético Ottawa has everything to play for in the decisive return leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship semifinals vs Vancouver FC on Thursday, September 18th (KO 7PM). The match - which will be broadcast on TSN - sees Ottawa attempt their Remontada, following a 3-1 defeat at Willoughby Community Park on August 13th. The winner on aggregate over both matches will advance to the final of the competition.
Fans at TD Place were treated to a preview of this anticipated matchup as both sides faced off in the Canadian Premier League on August 30th where Atlético cruised to a 3-1 victory on home soil. An identical result in the semifinal would be enough to send the game to a penalty shoot-out.
This matchup represents a battle of the CPL’s two most youthful teams as eye their first ever TELUS Canadian Championship Final appearance. For the winner, either Forge FC or Major League Soccer side, Vancouver Whitecaps await with the possibility of an all-CPL final for the first time in the history of the competition.
