On Friday, Nov. 28, Canadian Premier League clubs will convene again for the eighth annual CPL-U SPORTS Draft, presented by Degree.
A total of 201 players have declared for this year's draft, which is open to any U SPORTS underclassmen with one to four years of U SPORTS eligibility remaining, provided they are in good standing with their school’s athletic program and education institution and are planning to return to school the following year.
Players drafted may be invited to their CPL club’s preseason training, where they can compete for a roster spot. Clubs can sign up to three CPL-U SPORTS contracts to their development roster, which do not count toward the player compensation budget.
