Atlético Ottawa manager Diego Mejía has been named the Canadian Premier League's Manager of the Month for September.
Atleti began the month with a 2-0 victory over Pacific FC on September 6, before back-to-back draws against Ontario rivals York away 2-2, and Forge FC at home 1-1. They finished the month with a 3-0 victory over Cavalry FC at TD Place.
The Ottawa club outscored their opposition 8-3 during the month, keeping a pair of clean sheets as they remain in a tightly contested CPL Shield race with Forge.
This is the second time Mejía has been named the league's Manager of the Month, as he also earned the recognition in June.
He is the first repeat Manager of the Month of the season, with Halifax's Patrice Gheisar (April), Cavalry's Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (May), York United's Mauro Eustáquio (July) and Forge FC's Bobby Smyrniotis (August) the other recipients.
