The striker earned a big move to Europe in 2022 after a remarkable run of scoring form.

Another CPL alumnus is headed for the international stage.

Jesse Marsch has unveiled his Canadian men's national team squad for a pair of upcoming friendlies in Toronto, and this time the group includes former Cavalry FC striker Aribim Pepple.

Pepple, 23, has been enjoying a remarkable run of form in England with League One side Plymouth Argyle, scoring 11 goals in 17 games since the beginning of 2026.

It was in the Canadian Premier League, however, where Pepple's professional journey began. He first joined Cavalry FC in 2019 after impressing in open trialssigning his first pro contract with the club as a 16-year-old and making 14 appearances across the 2019 and 2020 campaigns.

After spending a year abroad in 2021 playing in Getafe's youth system, Pepple returned to Calgary in 2022, which is where his career truly took off.

That year, Pepple needed no time to find his goalscoring form, setting a CPL record for consecutive matches with a goal when he scored six times in five games between May and June.

Pepple's form caught the eye of a handful of clubs abroad, and soon enough he earned a transfer to England's Luton Town. Now, a few years later, he has found his footing in the U.K. and earned his shot with the national team.

Still though, Pepple credits his time at Cavalry under Tommy Wheeldon Jr. for helping him get where he is today.

"To give me that opportunity, especially at 16, to sign my first professional contract and to be around the pro players, it's huge, and it all started with that opportunity," Pepple recently told CPLsoccer.com.

Pepple becomes the 16th current or former CPL player to earn a senior Canada call-up, and the fifth Cavalry alum to get to the national team (following Marco Carducci, Joel Waterman, Dominick Zator and Victor Loturi).

Waterman, who was Pepple's teammate with the Cavs in 2019, was also called up for this camp.

Canada will play two friendlies at Toronto's BMO Field as they make final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They'll take on Iceland on Saturday, March 28, followed by Tunisia on Tuesday, March 31. Both matches will be broadcast on OneSoccer.
