The Cavalry winger fuelled the club's attacking resurgence, with three goals and two assists.

Cavalry FC attacker Ali Musse has been named the Canadian Premier League's Player of the Month for August 2025.

Musse started three matches for Cavalry and contributed in a major way to all three results, with a total of three goals and two assists.

He provided two helpers in the Cavs' 5-4 win over Vancouver FC, creating eight chances in a dazzling return from suspension. Musse followed up that triumph with two goals in Cavalry's 2-2 draw at Atlético Ottawa, then scored again the following week in a huge 4-1 win over Forge FC.

Musse was named the CPL's Player of the Week in Week 19 after the Vancouver FC match, the second time he's earned the nod this year.

The 29-year-old Somalia international has eight CPL goals in total for Cavalry this year as well as four assists.

He is the third member of the Cavalry organization to win a monthly award in 2025, following head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr.'s Manager of the Month honour and Marco Carducci's Goalkeeper of the Month recognition, both of which were in May.

Musse follows Atlético Ottawa's David Rodríguez (April) and Sam Salter (May), as well as Forge's Dan Nimick (June) and Kyle Bekker (July) on the list of this season's Player of the Month winners.
