Diego Urtiaga (York United)
The Mexican goalkeeper made a stunning nine saves in a 1-0 victory over Cavalry FC on Saturday, including an unbelievable 85th-minute double-save to keep his side in the league and preserve his clean sheet.
Defenders
Zachary Fernandez (Valour FC)
Fernandez put in an absolute shift at right-back for Valour on Friday night against Vancouver FC, making an incredible 10 interceptions. He won possession seven times, and had a team-high 79 touches in the match.
Frank Sturing (York United)
Another clean sheet for York United, and another Team of the Week appearance for Sturing -- following a 1-0 win over Cavalry on Saturday. He was at the centre of a strong defensive performance for the Nine Stripes, making seven clearances, three interceptions, and winning possession seven times.
Loïc Cloutier (Atlético Ottawa)
Cloutier picked up an assist on Sam Salter's match winner on Saturday against Pacific with a lovely ball over the top. He also completed 70 of 81 passes, won four of six duels and made four interceptions.
Orlando Botello (York United)
The York full-back was consistently tested by a dynamic Cavalry attack down the right on Saturday at ATCO Field, but held up well. He created two chances on five cross attempts, and 20 of 22 passes. He also won five of eight duels defensively.
Midfielders
Kyle Bekker (Forge FC)
In his seventh CPL season, Forge's captain remains a fixture in the team of the week -- this time for a strong performance against Halifax on Friday. Bekker created three chances and earned an assist, completed 42 of 46 passes and won possession eight times.
Lorenzo Callegari (Halifax Wanderers)
Despite his side losing 2-1 to Forge on Friday, Callegari was arguably the best player on the pitch. A remarkable assist to Ryan Telfer was the highlight of a masterful performance, where Callegari completed 60 of 66 passes, won eight of 12 duels, won possession 8 times and made five interceptions.
Ben Paton (Forge FC)
Playing in a midfield role for Forge of late, Paton scored his first goal for the club on Friday against Halifax with a stunning effort from distance. He also won possession eight times, and made a pair of interceptions during a solid outing in the middle of the park.
Forwards
David Rodríguez (Atlético Ottawa)
The Ottawa attacker scored another stunning goal against Pacific on Saturday, dribbling through defenders for his sixth of the season. He was dangerous all match long, creating five chances and firing three shots.
Kianz Froese (Valour FC)
Froese opened his CPL account, and the scoring for Valour on Friday in a 3-1 victory over Vancouver FC. The dangerous attacker had three shots, all on target, created a chance and won two fouls.
Sam Salter (Atlético Ottawa)
Make it 11 goals and counting for Salter on the season, as he matches his career-best CPL season tally through just 16 matches. Salter scored the winner against Pacific on Saturday, with three shots on target and two successful dribbles as well.
