Inter Toronto Football Club announced on Thursday the club has signed midfielder Kembo Kibato to a new contract, guaranteed through the 2028 Canadian Premier League season.

Kibato was an important figure for Inter Toronto during the 2025 campaign, demonstrating versatility and consistency across multiple roles in midfield. The 25-year-old Toronto native played in every single game for the club in 2025, starting 30 times.

His performances earned league-wide recognition, including six selections to the Gatorade Team of the Week. His return strengthens a core group that continues to form the identity and competitiveness of the club moving into the 2026 season.

“Kembo was an important player for us last season and I am happy we will have him back,” said Inter Toronto head coach Mauro Eustáquio. “He is a versatile midfielder who understands what we want to build and who always gives everything for the team. His growth this past year showed his commitment to the project and I know he will continue to push himself. Having players like Kembo return is key for our continuity and for what we want Inter Toronto to become.”

Kibato joined the CPL in February 2024, signing with Vancouver FC. His move to Toronto came by way of a transfer from the west coast that September. He has since developed into a dynamic and reliable presence in midfield. His return marks another step in Inter Toronto’s efforts to build a competitive roster defined by intensity, identity and ambition.
