Inter Toronto Football Club announced Thursday the signing of Ecuadorian winger Ariel Almagro to a contract guaranteed through the 2026 season, with a club option for 2027.

Almagro, 24, joins Inter Toronto as a left-sided attacking player with experience at Ecuador’s top professional level and in international competition. Born in Quito, Ecuador, the winger brings pace, versatility and a strong understanding of high-performance environments.

From 2022 to 2024, Almagro competed with Cumbayá FC in Ecuador’s Serie A, where he established himself as a consistent contributor across multiple seasons. In 2025, he signed with SD Aucas, continuing his development at the highest level of Ecuadorian football while earning regular minutes in league play.

During his time in Ecuador, Almagro also gained experience in international competition, including appearances in the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana. Most recently, he featured during the LigaPro Serie A Sudamericana Playoffs, further adding to his exposure in high-pressure match environments.

Primarily deployed as a left winger, Almagro is capable of operating across the attacking line and midfield, offering balance, energy and attacking depth. His profile aligns with Inter Toronto’s approach to building a competitive squad that blends emerging talent with international experience.

“Ariel is an exciting player with good pace, intensity and creativity in wide areas,” said Mauro Eustáquio, Head Coach, Inter Toronto Football Club. “He has experience competing at a good level in Ecuador and has been in demanding environments. We believe he has the qualities to adapt well to our league and contribute to the way we want to play.”

Almagro joins Inter Toronto as the club continues to strengthen its roster ahead of the upcoming campaign, adding depth and dynamism to the attacking unit.
