The York United forward and Atlético Ottawa defender will play Morocco, Uzbekistan and England in Spain ahead of the U-17 World Cup in November.

On Wednesday, the Canadian U-17 national team named its squad for upcoming friendlies against Morocco, Uzbekistan and England.

The friendlies will be hosted in Spain, with Canada taking on Morocco on Sept. 4 and Uzbekistan on Sept. 6, before a match against England on Sept. 9.

The team includes a pair of Canadian Premier League players, York United attacker Shola Jimoh, and Atlético Ottawa central defender Sergei Kozlovskiy.

Kozlovskiy, 17, has made 16 CPL this year for Atlético Ottawa in his debut professional season, 14 of which have come in starts. Jimoh, meanwhile, has played 18 matches this season for York United, registering three assists.

The Atleti defender recently scored for Canada U-17 in a friendly against Morocco back in June in a 2-1 loss – a window where Canada also lost to Japan before beating the United States. It was his fourth goal for Canada at the U-17 level, while Jimoh has scored three goals for Canada.

Canada’s September friendlies continue preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. Canada were recently drawn in Group K with France, Chile and Uganda, kicking off the competition on Nov. 5.
