Pacific FC has added another piece to its goalkeeping group, announcing the signing of Canadian goalkeeper Eleias Himaras to a guaranteed contract through 2026, with club options for 2027 and 2028.
Born on March 8, 2002, in London, Ontario, the 6-foot-1 shot-stopper arrives on Vancouver Island after a steady rise through the Canadian soccer pathway and with valuable experience in the Canadian Premier League.
Himaras began developing his game in his hometown of London, competing with local youth programs before joining the Toronto FC Academy in 2018. His talent earned him an early taste of the professional environment, making his senior debut at just 16 years old with Toronto FC III in League1 Ontario. He also gained experience as a reserve goalkeeper with Toronto FC II during the 2019 USL League One season.
Following the pause in competitive play in 2020, Himaras returned home to continue his development and, in 2021, signed with FC London in League1 Ontario. He appeared in 10 of 11 matches that season, helping the club to seven victories and reinforcing his reputation as a reliable presence between the posts. He would also spend the 2022 League1 Ontario season with Electric City FC.
Later in 2022, Himaras earned his first opportunity in the Canadian Premier League, joining Inter Toronto FC (formerly York United FC). He made his CPL debut in August 2022, coming on as a first-half substitute before earning his first start the following week. Across three seasons with the club from 2022 to 2024, Himaras made 19 CPL appearances, continuing to build valuable experience at the professional level.
In January 2025, Himaras signed with Valour FC, where he featured during the 2026 CPL season before the club’s subsequent folding, which opened the door to the next chapter of his professional career.
Now, that chapter begins on the Island.
“Eleias is a strong shot stopper who excels in playing from the back and is hungry and ambitious to push his game to another level,” said James Merriman, Head Coach. “He’s been patient in his development but has taken his opportunities when given. We believe in his potential and are excited to get to work.”
On the international stage, Himaras represented Canada at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, gaining experience against top global competition.
With his blend of youth, league experience, and familiarity with the Canadian professional landscape, Himaras arrives on the Island ready to compete and contribute as Pacific FC continues to build toward the upcoming campaign.
