Inter Toronto Football Club announced Friday the signing of Canadian defender Juan Córdova, who returns with a contract guaranteed through the 2026 season.

Córdova, 30, rejoins Inter Toronto with a professional résumé that spans more than 200 appearances across top-flight competitions in South America and North America. A dynamic fullback capable of contributing on both flanks, he brings experience, composure and tactical maturity to the defensive unit.

Born in Chile and eligible for Canada, Córdova has competed extensively in the Chilean Primera División, where he established himself over multiple seasons with clubs including Huachipato and Ñublense. His performances at the domestic level earned him opportunities in continental competitions, including appearances in the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores, facing some of South America’s most storied clubs.

In 2025, Córdova competed with Unión San Felipe, adding further professional minutes and leadership experience before making his return to Toronto. Across the 2024 and 2025 seasons with Inter Toronto, he featured regularly in league play, logging significant minutes while contributing both defensively and in attacking build-up phases. His passing reliability, defensive awareness and ability to read the game made him an important presence within the squad structure.

Internationally, Córdova has represented Canada at the senior level, earning caps in international competition and gaining exposure within high-performance national team environments.

“Juan is a player who understands our league, our environment and our expectations,” said Inter Toronto head coach Mauro Eustáquio. “He brings valuable international experience, including major continental tournaments, and he knows what it takes to compete consistently. Having him back strengthens our culture on and off the field.”
