It's been a whirlwind week in the Canadian Premier League, with a few huge pieces of off-season news getting the ball rolling on what's likely to be a wild couple of months.

Every CPL club released a roster update, detailing who's under contract, what option decisions are still to be made, and which players might be moving on as free agents.

There's a lot of information to sift through, so in case you missed it, here's a breakdown of every team's recent news.

Not included in this list are FC Supra du Québec. The CPL's newest club didn't have much of a roster update to provide, obviously. However, they did make headlines on Wednesday night, when they announced the first three players in club history.

Former Forge FC star David Choinière was named Supra's inaugural signing, and he was shortly joined by ex-Halifax Wanderers attacker Sean Rea and a recent CS Saint-Laurent standout in Loïc Kwemi.

Here are the other seven CPL clubs' latest roster updates.

Note: teams have until Dec. 31, 2025 to make final decisions on any remaining club options.

Atlético Ottawa

The reigning champions have a solid core of players returning, including their entire backline of Loïc Cloutier, Noah Abatneh and Sergei Kozlovskiy.

However, there are going to be some serious changes up front. We already knew Golden Boot winner Sam Salter was headed to GAIS in Sweden, and David Rodríguez's loan from Atlético de San Luis has ended. Nathan Ingham and Amer Didić are out of contract at the moment too, so their returns are not guaranteed.

One thing to watch: the club still hasn't announced whether they'll be picking up the option on star midfielder Manny Aparicio.

Cavalry FC

The Cavs have 11 players guaranteed, including Player of the Year nominee Sergio Camargo who triggered his contract option automatically through his 2025 performances.

The Cavs have a lot of option decisions to make, most notably Eryk Kobza, Michael Baldisimo and Diego Gutiérrez. Their midfield could look very different if they don't bring all of them back — or re-sign Shamit Shome, who is out of contract.

Marco Carducci is already confirmed to be leaving the club, leaving a gap to fill in the goalkeeper position.

It'll be a busy off-season in Calgary.

Forge FC

Last year's CPL Shield winners have most of their stars locked in, like Dan Nimick, Kyle Bekker and Tristan Borges.

We already know that David Choinière has moved to FC Supra as a free agent, but there are quite a few other names here that would look very different on another club's roster.

Alex Achinioti-Jönsson will be an interesting one to watch, as will Nana Ampomah. Forge don't currently have any goalkeepers under contract — including Golden Glove winner Jassem Koleilat — so that's something to keep an eye on as well.

Halifax Wanderers

There's a lot of work for Vanni Sartini to do in his first few weeks in charge in Halifax, starting with eight option decisions. The Wanderers have a very solid core in place, particularly Thomas Meilleur-Giguère, Lorenzo Callegari and Tiago Coimbra. However, they've also got a lot of flexibility.

Sean Rea has already made the move to FC Supra, but could Halifax try to re-sign Wesley Timoteo?

Inter Toronto

There are big changes coming in Toronto, beyond just a new name and colours.

Inter have 13 players under contract, including a core of young players like Shola Jimoh, Ivan Pavela and Luca Accettola. They can also count on some returning veterans, including leading scorer Julian Altobelli and full-back Max Ferrari.

They've already made most of their option decisions, announcing a few surprises like the departures of Elijah Adekugbe and Massimo Ferrin. Saying goodbye to Frank Sturing will be tough, too, if they can't re-sign him.

The biggest news so far for Toronto, though, is the arrival of Ollie Bassett. The former CPL Player of the Year was the first new face to sign for a team this off-season, and Inter will hope he can be a star for them.

Pacific FC

The Tridents have 13 players returning, including full-back Kadin Chung and attacker Marco Bustos, who will be looking for a bounce-back year in 2026. So, too, will Ronan Kratt, who missed most of 2025 with injury after a bright start.

Other good news on Vancouver Island is that Alejandro Díaz is officially back on a permanent deal, after playing for Pacific on loan from Vancouver FC last year.

The Tridents have already declined five options, with three more decisions still to come before the new year.

Vancouver FC

Ahead of their debut in the Concacaf Champions Cup, the Eagles have nine players under contract, with quite a few more who could stick around with club options.

They'll have a tough job replacing attackers Hugo Mbongue and Pathé Ndiaye, who provided a lot of Vancouver's attacking spark but have now returned to their parent clubs.

This will be an interesting roster to watch as it develops over the next few weeks, with a short runway to their Concacaf matchup with Cruz Azul.
