Atlético Ottawa is the league’s first side to clinch a playoff spot after a 3-1 victory over Cavalry FC at Spruce Meadows. They did so for the first time in club history, an incredible improvement after finishing last place in 2021. Ballou Tabla scored arguably the goal of the CPL season to open the scoring, while Malcolm Shaw and Brian Wright also found the back of the net for the visitors. José Escalante’s penalty was the lone goal for the Cavs. Prior to the match, Cavalry FC head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. was also honoured for his 100th match as head coach and GM of the Calgary side. Here are some sights and sounds from Calgary, Alberta
