Twenty-eight times in the 2025 Canadian Premier League regular season, the Gatorade Team of the Week has celebrated 11 of the top performers for the proceeding matchweek.

In total, 105 different players appeared at least once in the Team of the Week — at least 10 players from each of the CPL's eight clubs. That means that of the 215 players who made an appearance in the league this year, 48.9 per cent got at least one nod, indicating the extraordinary depth of talent across the competition.

This has been the highest-scoring CPL campaign of all time, with 336 goals scored in total (an average of exactly 3.0 per match). We've seen 107 different players hit the back of the net in 2025, which is likewise a league record. Five clubs (Forge FC, Atlético Ottawa, York United, Halifax Wanderers and Vancouver FC) set new team records for goals in a season as well.

If you haven't seen it yet, the final Gatorade Team of the Week from matchweek 28 is here.

Although a lot of different players made the TOTW at least once, some absolutely stood out above the rest.

Here's who found their way in most often, and how each club fared.

Individual Standouts

Considering the way they dominated the regular season, it's no surprise that Forge FC and Atlético Ottawa players also dominate the leaderboard here. Of the top 10 players in TOTW appearances, four play for Ottawa, and three play for Forge.

Two Atleti players share the top of the table, as well.

Here's the full top 10, with each player's total appearances in parentheses:

T1. Manny Aparicio, Atlético Ottawa (12)
T1. Nathan Ingham, Atlético Ottawa (12)
3. David Rodríguez, Atlético Ottawa (9)
T4. Kyle Bekker, Forge FC (8)
T4. Sam Salter, Atlético Ottawa (8)
T6. Nana Ampomah, Forge FC (7)
T6. Orlando Botello, York United (7)
T6. Ali Musse, Cavalry FC (7)
T6. Dan Nimick, Forge FC (7)
T6. Adam Pearlman, Halifax Wanderers (7)

Aparicio and Ingham have both broken the CPL record for appearances in the Gatorade Team of the Week, passing Daan Klomp's 11 from 2023 and Ollie Bassett's 10 in 2022.

Among goalkeepers, Ingham was far out ahead of the others; second place was Marco Carducci, who was in with five appearances.

Alejandro Díaz was the only player this season to get a TOTW nod for two different teams. He made it once for Vancouver FC before moving to Pacific FC, where he was named a further three times.

Outside of that top 10, four players made it in six times. Seven players were named five times. There were eight four-timers, 15 players with three, and 22 who made it in twice.

The remaining 39 Team of the Week spots went to players who made it once.

Team-by-Team Breakdown

As mentioned, all eight teams had at least 10 different players make the Gatorade Team of the Week. Here's how many different players made it from each club (note: Alejandro Díaz is included for both Pacific and Vancouver):

1. Forge FC — 16
2. York United — 15
T3. Atlético Ottawa
— 14
T3. Cavalry FC — 14
T3. Halifax Wanderers — 14
6. Pacific FC — 12
7. Vancouver FC — 11
8. Valour FC — 10

Forge, who may well have the deepest squad in the league, had the most different players get a nod. Five players made one appearance in the Team of the Week (David Choinière, Noah Jensen, Khadim Kane, Malik Owolabi-Belewu, and Ben Paton).

The other way to break this down, though, is the total TOTW appearances each club had. With 11 players named in each of the 28 weeks, there were 308 spots in total to go around.

Atlético Ottawa players earned just over 20 per cent of those spots, and 41 of their 64 appearances went to just four players (as listed above). If Forge's CPL Shield triumph was driven by their depth, Ottawa's success this season was fuelled by some incredible starpower.

This is how the eight CPL clubs ranked in terms of total TOTW appearances:

1. Atlético Ottawa — 64
2. Forge FC — 51
3. Cavalry FC — 43
4. Halifax Wanderers — 42
5. York United — 40
6. Vancouver FC — 23
7. Pacific FC — 22
8. Valour FC — 18

All in all, each side had plenty of outstanding performances to be proud of, and a few truly special individual seasons.

Now, though, as the CPL Playoffs begin, it's all about the collective. Five clubs will go toe-to-toe over the next three weeks, and one of them will be left standing with the North Star Cup.
