Eleias Himaras will serve a three-game suspension after the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel rejected Valour FC’s appeal of the red card issued to the goalkeeper following last week’s match against Cavalry FC.
Himaras was red carded for violent conduct during Valour’s match against Cavalry FC on Tuesday, July 29. Valour appealed the red card last week, on the grounds of excessive punishment. The Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel, which is responsible for reviewing red card appeals by CPL clubs, rejected the claim following a virtual hearing on Thursday.
Himaras has already missed one match, Saturday, Aug. 2 at Forge FC, which counts toward his three-game suspension. He will also be suspended for Valour’s upcoming visits to Atlético Ottawa on Sunday, Aug. 10 and to York United FC on Sunday, Aug. 17.
