Vasco Fry will serve a three-game suspension after the Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel rejected Vancouver FC’s appeal of the red card the midfielder was issued during last week’s match against Forge FC. Fry was sent off for violent conduct in the 53rd minute of VFC’s match at Forge FC on Friday, July 5. Vancouver appealed the red card earlier this week, claiming wrongful dismissal. The Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel, which is responsible for reviewing red card appeals by CPL clubs, rejected the claim in a written decision on Thursday, determining there was “no evidence of a clear, obvious or egregious error made by the Match Officials in issuing the send-off.” Fry will now be suspended for Vancouver’s upcoming home matches against Atlético Ottawa on Friday, July 12, against York United FC on Saturday, July 20 and against Cavalry FC on Friday, July 26.
