To Join for Training Camp in Spain

Vancouver FC’s very own Kevin Podgorni has reached an exciting international milestone, just months after signing his first professional contract with the Eagles in 2025.

The 17-year-old attacker has been called up to represent Canada’s U-17 National Team at an upcoming training camp in Albir, Spain. This marks Kevin’s first appearance on the international stage, a major step in his young career. During the camp, Canada will face Japan on June 5 and the USA on June 7, giving Kevin a valuable opportunity to showcase his talent in high-level international competition.

This camp marks the first step in Canada’s preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, following the team’s successful qualification in February. The squad features promising young players from around the globe, including talents currently developing in the English Premier League and Italian Serie A, providing Kevin with a world-class environment to grow and elevate his game. The FIFA U-17 World Cup will take place in Qatar from November 3–27, where Canada will compete in the group stage against France, Chile, and Uganda.

In addition to Kevin’s call-up, Vancouver FC’s Director of Football Operations, Jeevin Kang, will also be part of the camp, serving as Tour Manager with Canada Soccer. Representing VFC at the international level, Jeevin will be responsible for overseeing the administration and logistics of the camp, playing a key role in supporting the team’s success off the pitch.

This is a significant milestone in Vancouver FC’s history, as the club’s mission continues to turn into reality. Kevin and Jeevin now join the ranks of TJ Tahid, James Cameron, Grady McDonell, and others as living examples of the club’s commitment to growing the game and developing local talent to compete on the international stage.

Join us for our next home match at Willoughby Stadium on Friday, May 30, as we continue our mission of developing young talent and competing for our place on the national stage.
