York United FC Academy is pleased to confirm the addition of Bohdan Kanafotskyi ahead of the club’s debut campaign in the League1 Ontario Championship Division.
Originally from Ukraine, Bohdan developed his football foundations at a young age before relocating to Canada. Following a thorough evaluation by York United’s scouting staff, he earned his spot in the Academy and is now set to begin a new chapter in his development.
“Playing for York United FC helps me improve my skills for the next level,” he says. “The training and competition push me to grow, preparing me for future opportunities in football.”
Operating as a central midfielder, Bohdan values structure, composure, and quick decision-making on the ball. He approaches every session as a chance to get better and contribute to the collective standard of the group.
“One of the best things about being part of York United FC is the high level of competition and the opportunity to improve every day,” he shares. “The coaches push us to be our best, and training with good teammates makes me a better player.”
His long-term focus remains clear: to take full advantage of this opportunity and continue building his career one step at a time.
“My advice is to work hard, stay focused, and never give up,” he adds. “Keep improving, believe in yourself, and learn from your mistakes.”
With his discipline, work ethic, and commitment to growth, Bohdan Kanafotskyi becomes another important addition to York United FC Academy as preparations for the 2025 season continue.
