Toronto, ON – July 11, 2025 – York United FC Academy midfielder Yaathav Lakshman played an important role in the Tamil Eelam Men’s National Team’s recent success at the 2025 CONIFA Asia Cup in London, England.
The 17-year-old featured in all three fixtures during the tournament, recording 120 minutes of action. He scored one goal and provided one assist as Tamil Eelam secured the championship and qualified for the 2026 CONIFA World Cup.
Lakshman has since returned to training with the York United FC Academy and is preparing for the upcoming League1 Ontario fixtures.
His performance on the international stage reflects the strength of local player development and the continued growth of the Academy program. York United FC congratulates Yaathav on this important milestone and remains committed to supporting young talent on and off the pitch.
