Halifax Wanderers captain Andre Rampersad and forward Ryan Telfer have been selected by the Trinidad and Tobago National Team for two upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
Both players have joined the squad for a training camp in Miami, before heading to Hamilton, Bermuda, for an important match on Friday, Oct.10. The Soca Warriors also face Curaçao on Oct. 14.
Trinidad and Tobago are in the third round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, sitting in third place in Group B.
The team that places first in the group will automatically qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Canada is co-hosting with Mexico and the United States. The second-placed team has the opportunity to advance to an inter-confederation playoff.
Since making his international debut in 2023, Rampersad has become a key player for his national team, earning 26 caps for his country. He scored his first international goal during the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Wanderers midfielder played the full 90 minutes in each of Trinidad and Tobago's opening two matches of this round of qualifying.
Telfer has scored ten goals in 34 appearances for Trinidad and Tobago since making his debut in 2019.
