It's the penultimate week of the CPL off-season, and thus the penultimate week of CPL Headlines.
This week was a particularly busy one on the East Coast, where both the Halifax Wanderers and FC Supra du Québec made big additions to their respective squads.
Here's what you need to know from this past week in the Canadian Premier League:
Wanderers add dynamic striker Cyprian Kachwele on loan; sign Astridge, Hughes
In what could prove to be a critical signing in a position of need, the Halifax Wanderers signed 21-year-old striker Cyprian Kachwele on loan from the Vancouver Whitecaps.
The Tanzanian international, who has a pair of caps for his country at the senior level, has been with the Whitecaps since 2023. He played three first-team matches since, including making his debut in a Canadian Championship match against Cavalry FC in 2024.
He did so during Vanni Sartini's tenure as head coach of the Whitecaps, a reunion that will help him quickly adapt to life on the pitch in Halifax. An imposing striker with a lethal combination of speed and height, he adds a significant weapon for the club's attack.
Primarily, Kachwale has played for the Vancouver Whitecaps 2 over the past few seasons. Last year, he had seven goals and three assists in 18 games in MLS Next Pro.
With 21-year-old Victor Akinwale recently signed as well, to go with 19-year-old Tavio Ciccarelli, the Wanderers will have a very young attack in 2026, but one with a lot of potential.
The Wanderers also rounded out their squad with a pair of signings closer to home. They brought back Dalhousie goalkeeper Sinclair Astridge on a first-team contract after he spent last year with the club as a CPL-U SPORTS player. He will now get to learn his craft from Marco Carducci.
They also added Cape Breton full-back Harvey Hughes after selecting him sixth overall in this year's CPL-U SPORTS Draft. With a combined four goals and nine assists in his first two collegiate seasons, he is a versatile player with exceptional passing ability.
Supra strengthen midfield with Mlah, Correa signings
A former CS St-Laurent star is back in his home province after FC Supra du Québec added midfielder Safwane Mlah to their ranks this week.
The 24-year-old, who won Ligue1 Québec's Ballon D'Or in 2023, also won Canada Soccer Futsal Player of the Year that season.
He spent the past two years with Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League, where he played 37 matches and scored once. He brings excellent technical ability to Supra's midfield.
The club also added another CS St-Laurent alumnus, attacking midfielder Olivier Correa. The 23-year-old scored eight goals in Ligue1 Québec last season for CS St-Laurent. He was also prolific for Jacksonville University in the NCAA.
Pepple gets first CanMNT call-up for March friendlies
Former Cavalry FC striker Aribim Pepple just can't stop scoring, and that has earned him a look from Canadian men's national team head coach Jesse Marsch for the March international window.
This past weekend, the 23-year-old Plymouth Argyle striker tallied his 13th League One goal of the season, scoring him his first senior international call-up.
Canada take on Iceland on Saturday (1 p.m. ET), before a matchup with Tunisia on Tuesday, March 31 (7:30 p.m. ET ). Both matches are live on OneSoccer.
Pepple made his professional debut at just 16 with Cavalry back in 2019. He returned to the club in 2022, scoring six times in seven games before earning a move to England with Luton Town.
He becomes just the latest Cavalry FC alumni to get a CanMNT call, joining Marco Carducci, Victor Loturi, Joel Waterman and Dom Zator. All five were part of Cavalry's inaugural team in 2019.
