Amelia Aris – Trinity Western University (TWU)

Goalkeeper Amelia Aris is headed to Trinity Western University, joining one of Canada’s top U Sports programs. Aris has been a rock between the posts for the Wave, known for her work ethic and an enthusiasm for constant improvement. TWU’s coaching staff lauded her desire to get better and noted her potential to push for playing time early, praising how she rises to each challenge. As a graduate of Reynolds Secondary and the Wave’s goalkeeper unit, Amelia’s dedication and steady presence in goal will serve her well as she takes the next step with the Spartans.

Clara Chudley – Trinity Western University (TWU)

Clara Chudley is a versatile defender/midfielder who has also committed to Trinity Western. A tenacious and intelligent player, Chudley is celebrated for her defensive prowess and ability to play out from the back. She isn’t just a stalwart in defense, Clara captained Spectrum Community School to a AAA provincial high school championship this spring, scoring 2 stunning goals in the final, one ultimately being the championship winner. TWU’s coaches describe her as “a fantastic athlete…very intelligent on the ball…versatile”, the type of player who can make an instant impact at the next level. Clara’s appetite to win and leadership qualities will be a huge asset as she joins the Spartans.

Ella Cook – Concordia University Irvine (California)

Attacking midfielder/forward Ella Cook will be heading to Concordia University Irvine in California to continue her soccer journey. A product of the Wave and Claremont Secondary, Ella is known for her creativity in the attacking third and tireless work rate across the pitch. Cook was a standout for her school side and the Wave U17 team, often playing provider and finisher with equal prowess. As she joins the CUI Eagles, Ella’s playmaking skills and tenacity will bolster their offense. Victoria’s soccer community will be proud to see a local Wave alum take her talents to the NCAA stage.

Brooklyn Erb – University of Victoria (UVIC)

Brooklyn Erb will continue her journey with the UVIC Vikes next season, keeping another top talent here on the Island. A striker/winger, Brooklyn is a pure attacking threat who loves to score goals. She showcased her scoring touch with the Wave and also at Royal Bay Secondary. Brooklyn had multiple clutch performances during Royal Bay’s 2024 provincial title run, including a Game MVP for her contributions in one of the tournament matches. Quick, agile, and aggressive in the box, she has a unique sense of positioning that always puts her in goal-scoring opportunities. Whether blasting shots from distance or poaching rebounds, she always finds a way to put the ball in the net. The Vikes coaching staff have already highlighted Brooklyn as a forward with a bright future, praising her knack for offense and expecting her to bolster UVic’s attack from day one. With her hometown crowd behind her, Brooklyn is poised to keep lighting up scoreboards as she transitions to university soccer.

Cassie McKinty – Cape Breton University (CBU)

Cassie McKinty is set to head east to join the Cape Breton University Capers in Nova Scotia. A hard-working central midfielder, Cassie has been a linchpin of the Wave ’07 cohort and a midfield engine for Royal Bay Secondary. In 2024, she further cemented her legacy by winning the Tournament MVP award at the BC AAA Provincial Championship, leading Royal Bay to the title with her commanding play in the center of the park. McKinty’s game is marked by excellent defensive awareness, crisp passing, and the ability to transition play from defense to attack – all qualities that made her invaluable to her team’s success. She also comes from a rich soccer lineage: her father, Doug McKinty, earned caps for Canada and played pro for the Vancouver 86ers. Cassie’s blend of grit and game intelligence, honed through years in the Wave program and high-level youth competition, will be a perfect fit for the Capers, who are getting a proven winner in their midfield.

Charlotte McIntyre – McMaster University

Charlotte McIntyre is continuing her soccer and academic journey at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Charlotte is a versatile player from Victoria and graduate of Glenlyon Norfolk School who has been a steady presence in the Wave lineup, often used in both midfield and defensive roles. McIntyre is praised for her soccer IQ and consistency, she reads the game well, makes smart decisions under pressure, and can fill whatever role is asked of her on the field. While playing in the BCSPL, Charlotte gained a reputation as a reliable, coachable team player who leads by example. These qualities, along with her strong academics, helped earn her a spot with the McMaster Marauders. The Pacific FC pathway celebrates Charlotte’s achievement and is confident she will flourish with the Marauders.

Maja Music – Thompson Rivers University (TRU)

Maja Music has committed to the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack in Kamloops. A stalwart 5’9” defender, Maja has anchored the backline for the Wave and even earned selection to BC’s provincial team, representing the province in her youth. She is a calm and composed center-back who reads the game well and excels in the air. Maja played a pivotal role in Royal Bay Secondary’s 2024 provincial championship triumph – even earning a Game MVP nod during the tournament for her defensive heroics. Coaches and teammates laud her steady leadership at the back. TRU is getting a talented defender with a proven track record, as Maja looks to continue shutting down attackers at the university level.

Kate Noyce – University of Victoria (UVIC)

Local midfielder Kate Noyce will stay on Vancouver Island to suit up for the University of Victoria Vikes. Kate has been a core playmaker for the Wave program and a leader at Spectrum Community School, where she was one of the standout performers on a team loaded with Wave talent. In fact, Kate helped Spectrum storm to the 2025 AAA provincial championship, providing stability and creativity in midfield throughout the tournament. Coaches praise Noyce’s technical skills and field vision, she has a knack for controlling the tempo of the game and delivering that key assist or switching play when needed. The Vikes will benefit from Kate’s playmaking abilities, high soccer IQ, and familiarity with high-pressure games as she continues her career in her hometown.

Joss Olcen – Thompson Rivers University (TRU)

Joss Olcen is a dynamic attacking player set to join Maja at Thompson Rivers University. Joss has been an offensive spark for the Wave – a forward with pace, skill, and a nose for goal. A multi-sport standout from St. Michaels University School (SMUS), she played senior girls soccer all four years and helped her team win a provincial AA title in 2023 (an experience made special as she played alongside her sister and under her mother as coach). In addition to soccer, Olcen captured a provincial basketball championship this year, as well as playing volleyball and field hockey, highlighting her athleticism and competitive drive. On the pitch, Joss’s quick feet and attacking flair routinely left defenders on their heels; she is equally comfortable creating chances for teammates as she is finishing them. “I am so beyond grateful to be going into the next level of my sporting career,” Joss said about her TRU opportunity. The WolfPack will gain a versatile forward with a winner’s mentality and a wealth of high-level experience for a young player.

Charli Packford – University of Victoria (UVIC)

Charli Packford has committed to the UVIC Vikes, bringing speed and scoring punch to the Vikes’ attack. Charli is a “speedy striker” who loves to run at defenses and find the back of the net. As a key member of Spectrum’s provincial championship team, Packford’s pace was on full display, she scored a brace (two goals) in a 4–1 statement win during the tournament, showcasing her finishing ability on a big stage. Altogether she tallied multiple goals en route to Spectrum’s 2025 title and was among the team’s leading scorers. Charli’s tenacious style up front, always pressing defenders and creating chances, earned her a reputation as a constant threat. The Vikes are excited to welcome this local goal-scorer into the fold and with her knack for getting in behind defenses, Charli is poised to continue terrorizing opposing backlines at the university level.

Sophie Postlethwaite – University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC)

Sophie Postlethwaite will join her Wave teammate Laney at UNBC, adding even more talent to the Timberwolves’ incoming class. Sophie is a well-rounded midfielder from Victoria (Stelly’s Secondary) known for her technical ability and attacking spark. Described as having “a well-rounded skillset and an obvious positivity” on the pitch, Postlethwaite was a dominant force for the Stelly’s Stingers, where she served as a captain and playmaker. Sophie combines a strong engine with quality ball skills – she cites her “technical ability, [her] stamina and [her] shot from distance” as key strengths. Perhaps most impressively, she prioritizes being a supportive leader on the field, bringing “lots of energy to every practice and game” to lift her teammates. UNBC head coach Neil Sedgwick is excited about Sophie joining the program, noting her high desire to improve and strong foundation as reasons she’ll thrive in the Timberwolves’ development-focused environment. With a 4.0 GPA and plans to study Health Sciences, Sophie exemplifies the student-athlete ethos. Northern BC fans can look forward to Postlethwaite’s long-range strikes and upbeat presence bolstering the squad next fall.

Laney Stewart – University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC)

Laney Stewart is taking her talents to the UNBC Timberwolves in Prince George. A central midfielder from Metchosin, Laney is an “energetic, two-way midfielder” known for contributing both offensively and defensively. She has been with the Wave program for years and also starred at Royal Bay Secondary, where she helped captain the Ravens to the 2024 provincial title. In that championship run, Laney’s leadership and high work rate stood out and helped earn her a Game MVP award during the tournament. Timberwolves coach Neil Sedgwick, who has known the Stewart family for years, praised Laney’s steady development and “strong playing ability with and without the ball,” noting her appetite for continuous growth. Laney herself is known as a positive force on the field who “brings up the team’s energy” and encourages teammates every game. UNBC is not only getting a talented midfielder but also a budding leader with a contagious work ethic. The Timberwolves are excited to have Laney join the squad in 2025, where she will continue to thrive in Canada West competition.

Brooklyn Robinson – Simon Fraser University (SFU) (Volleyball)

Brooklyn is a multi-sport athlete that has had a successful sports career not just with the Wave, but starring in both volleyball and soccer during her high school career at Spectrum. Brooklyn is an opposite hitter committed to Simon Fraser University’s volleyball program. A natural standout from Victoria, she began focusing on volleyball in high school and quickly found success, winning back-to-back club Provincial championships in 2022 and 2023 and helping her team place fourth at the 2023 national club tournament. She also earned a Volleyball BC 18U All-Star nod in 2024 (as a 17-year-old). Brooklyn isn’t just dominant at the net, on the soccer pitch, she led Spectrum Community School to its first-ever AAA senior girls Island championship in 2024, scoring the title-clinching penalty in the final and propelling the team to a provincial Final Four finish. SFU’s coaches noticed Brooklyn’s athleticism and coolness under pressure, and see her as a key presence for the Red Leafs at the next level. With her blend of skill, work ethic, and leadership, Brooklyn will bring a winning mindset that will be a huge asset as she embarks on her university career.

Monet Thurbide – University of Pennsylvania (Penn) (Field Hockey)

Monet Thurbide will continue her athletic and academic journey at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall of 2025. Known for her blazing speed, tenacity, and leadership, Monet has been a driving force on every team she’s joined (no matter the sport), pairing a relentless work ethic with her high skill. She helped Oak Bay High School capture the 2021 AAA Field Hockey BC provincial championship (and finish as runner-up in 2022), and she starred for Team BC by winning gold at three consecutive national championships from 2022 through 2024. Monet’s excellence earned her a place on the national stage as well, as she represented Canada on the U17 team and co-captained Canada’s U18 squad during a tour in 2024. A multi-sport athlete, she also spent six years with the Vancouver Island Wave, showing her versatility and competitive mindset. The Penn Quakers are getting a proven winner with a championship pedigree; Monet will be an immediate asset as she steps into NCAA Division I play.

Pacific FC and the entire Island soccer community congratulate these graduating Wave players on their achievements. Each of these young women has shown exceptional growth, dedication, and passion. As they move on to university soccer, they carry forward the pride of Vancouver Island and the Pacific FC pathway. We wish them the very best in their academic and athletic careers, and we’ll be cheering them on as they make their mark at the next level!
