October 21, 2025 – York United FC is proud to confirm that forward Shola Jimoh has been named to Canada Soccer’s Men’s U-17 National Team for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™, taking place from 3 to 27 November in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
The 21-player roster announced by Canada Soccer marks the nation’s ninth participation in the global tournament and the first under FIFA’s expanded 48-team format. “I feel honoured to represent Canada at the U-17 World Cup. I’m excited and ready to perform for the country,” said Jimoh. “I’m looking forward to playing against different nations from other continents, being adaptable to play our game, and being fearless of whoever’s in front of us. York United has sharpened my game and added pro experience, professionalism, and versatility to help my team wherever I’m selected to play.”
York United FC congratulates Shola and his family on this remarkable achievement and wishes him and the entire Canadian squad the very best as they prepare to compete on the world stage.
