Toronto, ON (August 18, 2025) – York United FC is proud to announce that Academy midfielder Davin Chhoeun has received an international call-up to the Cambodian U23 National Team ahead of the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
The 18-year-old is already in camp with the squad as they prepare to host Group G matches in Phnom Penh. Cambodia will face Oman (September 3), Pakistan (September 6), and Iraq (September 9) at the National Sports Complex.
With just 15 spots available, there will be no room for error for the hopefuls as only the 11 group winners and four best-ranked runners-up will join hosts Saudi Arabia at the Finals on January 7–25, 2026.
Speaking on his call-up, Davin expressed his pride in representing his family’s roots: “It’s an honour to represent the country where my family and I are from, and to represent everyone in Cambodia is truly a blessing from above. The AFC U23 Cup will be a great challenge, and I’m excited to participate and represent my roots.”
Davin also highlighted how his development at York United FC has shaped him as a player: “My time at York United was amazing — to play with such high-level players of different ages has pushed me to be better every day, and I will continue to strive for my goals.”
This international opportunity reflects York United’s commitment to player development through its Academy pathway, offering young talents the platform to showcase their skills both domestically and abroad.
York United FC congratulates Davin Chhoeun on this achievement and wishes him the very best as he represents Cambodia on the international stage.
